One man CAN make a difference in lives of others: children, parents, friends – but also people one will never meet again, or conversely, those for whom one becomes responsible because of a career choice or calling.
Robert Trampier was a simple man, a kind man, and a good friend. He died at the young age of 52, well before some of the frail consumers he so passionately helped. Robert had an open mind and a heart of gold. At a time when few laws existed to assist Limited English Speakers, he recognized the value of professional interpreters, home care assistance, and social services for the many refugees he had come in contact with through his work. It is in his name that we started a fund aimed at continuing his legacy of support and direct financial aid. Over the past 9 years, the fund has received over $10,000 in donations and assisted more than 75 seniors in need of medical supplies, non-covered medications, or equipment for in-home recovery. In these difficult economic times, the Robert Trampier Fund also helps chronically ill consumers obtain one-time utility payment assistance.
The dedicated team of Bilingual International Assistant Services diligently educates itself on available resources, refers persons with financial needs, and helps them obtain the resources necessary for survival.
If you choose to donate to our agency, please consider earmarking your donation for direct deposit to the Robert Trampier Fund.
