Genocide and Rwanda: A Survivor’s Story – June 26, 2019

June 5, 2019 By Liliya Joseph

Join us to mark the United Nations Day in Support of Victims of Torture on June 26 by listening to Marie-Christine Williams tell her powerful personal story. At the age of 14, Williams lost her entire family in the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The daughter of a Rwandan Tutsi father and a Romanian Jewish mother-most of whose family was killed in the Holocaust-Williams now resides in St. Louis and shares her story of survival, reconciliation, and triumph all over the world. Her book, “The Dark Side of Human Nature,” will be available for purchase. A short reception will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by the program at 7:00 pm in the Lee Auditorium at the Missouri History Museum.  Presented in partnership with the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center and Purposed Productions.
