The Network for Strong Communities (NSC), with support from the Nina Needleman Charitable Fund and Centene, has selected Bilingual International for the first cohort of a new scholarship program aimed at helping nonprofit organizations increase their capacity to do important work in the community.  The year-long scholarship begins with an assessment of the organization’s strengths and challenges, which is used as the basis for a customized capacity building plan. This plan can include access to NSC group training sessions, membership in monthly roundtable meetings, participation in learning labs, and a customized consultative schedule that includes up to 10 hours of targeted services such as board training, executive coaching, development assistance, and fiscal management.

“No matter their mission, nonprofits often face similar challenges for growth. This capacity building scholarship allows us to offer our expertise at no cost to the organizations and help them increase their capacity to do work that benefits the entire community,” said Diane Drollinger, Executive Director of NSC.

“I’ve seen the incredibly valuable work done by some of St. Louis’s smaller nonprofits and wanted to find a way to help them build capacity to take their work to the next level. With NSC, we’ll determine what success looks like for them and give them the support they need to get there,” said Nina Needleman, trustee of the Nina Needleman Charitable Fund.

A big thank you to Nina Needleman and the gurus at NSC for this honor and the opportunity to undertake some meaningful capacity work!
