Saint Louis Public Radio – Thank you for highlighting our staff and participants!!

December 16, 2015 By Jason Baker

When  DURRIE BOUSCAREN came to Bilingual International, she may not have planned on spending the whole day and returning the next morning.  Our rich and diverse community welcomed her and shared life experiences of pain, laughter, learning and hardship.  It was amazing to see how each of us was able to take time out of our busy schedule to share our refugee experiences, that are more like the stories of survival and triumph.  Having the opportunity to learn from each other and to widen our horizons is an amazing gift Bilingual International presents.  We grow as we learn and we are able to become more giving, more caring and more humane in our dealings with others, even when they look different, act different and speak in a foreign language.

We thank Saint Louis Public Radio for sharing the stories and hope that these will find their way to general public.  To read the full article, please click on the link below.

The United Way of Greater St. Louis Safety Net of local nonprofit agencies helps one out of every three residents in our region. THAT'S A LOT OF PEOPLE, and it includes many of us on staff here at Bilingual International. Which is part of the reason why we are proud to host - for the second year now - an admittedly modest employee contribution campaign to support the same Safety Net that funds our work.
